LifePoint Informatics, a provider of software that connects clinical laboratories and hospitals, was struggling to scale its flagship product InfoHub. As its customer base grew from a handful to more than 200 sites, maintaining dozens of custom-built message queues became inefficient and made integration and troubleshooting increasingly time-consuming.
LifePoint migrated InfoHub from InterSystems Caché to InterSystems Ensemble, using Ensemble’s interfacing capabilities and Enterprise Cache Protocol to run versions side-by-side for testing. Ensemble’s built-in message repository and messaging tools simplified troubleshooting, cut interface reset work from a full-time job to about one hour per week, sped up EHR integrations, and supported 40% business growth over two years without adding staff, with further gains planned via dashboards and enhanced security features.
