LIB-IT DMS Upgrades Flagship Product to Potentially Handle Petabytes of Data

LIB-IT DMS, a German software vendor of the FILERO® enterprise information management system, needed to future‑proof its product for massive growth driven by regulatory compliance and ever‑increasing data volumes. The company anticipated FILERO would soon have to manage terabytes to petabytes of documents, emails and versions while still providing fast, reliable search and access.

LIB-IT migrated FILERO to the InterSystems IRIS Data Platform to take advantage of its sharding (horizontal partitioning) and interoperability features; the migration took just a few hours with no compilation issues. Early tests show strong scalability—FILERO imported and indexed 520 million records in under seven hours—and the product is already being rolled out to a large customer as data growth ramps from ~2.5 TB/year toward hundreds of terabytes per year, giving LIB-IT confidence the system can handle petabyte‑scale workloads.
