Inland Imaging, a Spokane-based radiology and diagnostic services provider with more than 600 employees across Washington, Idaho, Oregon and Arizona, needed to connect referring physicians’ EMR systems so orders and reports could flow electronically. Previous integration approaches were too slow, costly or functionally limited, and onboarding a new customer previously took 6–9 months.

Inland implemented InterSystems Ensemble to provide HL7 messaging, message persistence, business-process orchestration and reporting, tying customer EMRs directly into scheduling and reporting systems and eliminating manual fax/phone handling. As a result, integrations now complete in three months or less, developer effort is reduced, clinician workflow is streamlined, and Ensemble has become the hub driving Inland’s IT and growth.
