Healthpac Modernizes MultiValue Application with Cache

Healthpac Computer Systems, Inc., a Savannah, GA vendor of medical billing systems, needed to modernize its D3-based H2003 application to compete for larger healthcare accounts. Customers demanded a browser-based interface and ODBC-accessible data so the system could be integrated with standard reporting and analysis tools.

Healthpac ported H2003 to InterSystems Caché, preserving existing MultiValue code while gaining out-of-the-box ODBC, Web UI capabilities via InterSystems Zen, and improved performance. The migration began in April 2007; a prototype of the new H2007 system was shown by May and received positive feedback, with deployment to 1,700 users planned for early Q3 2007. Strong vendor support and the ability to fit into larger organizations’ architectures positioned Healthpac to win bigger accounts.
