Healthix, one of the nation's largest public health information exchanges, was enlisted by New York City's health agency to help keep school children healthy. The challenge was to gather and analyze data to bolster patient engagement and care coordination for students with known diagnoses of asthma, diabetes, and mental health conditions.

InterSystems provided its HealthShare platform to power this initiative. The solution enabled Healthix to quickly identity-match over 1 million students and uncover thousands of additional and missing diagnoses for conditions like asthma, depression, and anxiety. This data, powered by the seamless, real-time flow of over 300 million clinical pieces of information each month, allowed the city to target care needs effectively and manage its immunization registry with 100% participation from public clinics.
