The customer, 3M Health Information Systems, faced the challenge of integrating multiple coding, clinical documentation improvement, and performance monitoring processes onto a single platform. They partnered with vendor InterSystems and used its HealthShare Health Connect integration engine to address this complexity.

Using InterSystems technology, the solution was the development of the 3M™ 360 Encompass™ System. This new platform increased process automation and workflow efficiency, which resulted in substantial productivity improvements for both inpatient and outpatient coding for the customer.
