George James Software puts Cache at the core of an innovative software portfolio

George James Software built its business around InterSystems Caché, using the high-performance object database to create developer tools and applications. When Shepperton Marina asked for a billing and booking system in the mid-1990s, the company developed ClearWaterMMS — a Caché‑based marina management application that centralized berth allocation, billing, customer and boat records and grew into a broader product line.

ClearWaterMMS is a web-enabled, often hosted solution with built-in reporting and flexible customization for each marina’s processes and pricing. Deployed at dozens of sites — from 20-berth harbors to the 600-berth Portland Marina — it simplifies administration, frees staff time, delivers rich management information for targeted marketing and alignment across sites, and reduces the need for a dedicated DBA, backed by responsive support from InterSystems.
