A Internet Initiative Japan (IIJ) Case Study
Ministop Co., Ltd., a convenience store chain and member of the Aeon Group, was facing significant operational challenges with its store-management system for its Vietnamese stores. The system was hosted on an IaaS platform in China, which resulted in frequent international communication disruptions. These interruptions severely impacted critical store functions like accounting and order placement, leading to lost sales opportunities and food waste. To resolve this, Ministop engaged vendor Internet Initiative Japan (IIJ) to migrate its infrastructure.
IIJ implemented its HI GIO CLOUD service, a high-quality IaaS platform located in Vietnam developed with local partner FPT Telecom. This solution eliminated the unstable cross-border communications. IIJ managed the complex, multi-country project and completed the entire migration for approximately 120 stores in just one month. The results were immediate and significant: system stability was achieved, eliminating lost sales opportunities and dramatically reducing food and investment losses due to order failures.
