NYLC boosts service learning engagement with Internet Exposure and 35+ custom badges

The National Youth Leadership Council (NYLC) partnered with Internet Exposure to address a challenge of driving user engagement on its online community for service learning. The customer wanted to incorporate a gamification system using badges to incentivize its 5,000+ members to more fully complete their service learning projects, thereby generating higher quality content for the site.

Internet Exposure designed and implemented a custom solution featuring over 35 badges and an admin tool for creating new ones. This included a badge leaderboard on the homepage and a fully editable quiz module to guide students. The result was a more interactive platform that successfully encouraged the creation of 888 service learning projects.
