A Interlake Mecalux Case Study
Yamazaki Mazak UK Ltd, a leading industrial machinery manufacturer with a major presence in Europe, needed a safer and more controlled way to manage freshly painted parts at its Worcester production center. The challenge was to hold these components temporarily while they dried, without slowing production or losing track of items. Interlake Mecalux provided the automated storage solution, including a small pallet warehouse and the Easy WMS warehouse management system.
Interlake Mecalux implemented a fully automated buffer warehouse with pallet racking, a trilateral stacker crane, and conveyor-controlled movements to store and retrieve painted parts at the right time. The system can hold 60 pallets of 43” x 43” and up to 1,100 lb each, while giving Yamazaki Mazak UK Ltd precise inventory control and safer, less manual handling. The result was faster entry and exit of parts, uninterrupted flow between production areas, and continuous monitoring of stored goods.
