Vi-MA Automates Its Components Warehouse for Metal Containers in Italy

VI-MA, an Italian manufacturer of metal container components, needed to expand storage and improve logistics as demand grew. Previously, the company stored pallets on the floor, which made inventory management difficult and increased the risk of errors. Interlake Mecalux was brought in to help with a compact, automated warehouse solution using the Pallet Shuttle system and Easy WMS warehouse management software.

Interlake Mecalux implemented a 2,405 m² automated warehouse in Miradolo Terme with stacker-crane-attended Pallet Shuttle racking, push-back buffer racks, and Galileo control software. The system provides space for 356 pallets, supports faster inbound and outbound flows, and reduced errors while improving stock visibility through real-time ERP integration. VI-MA also reported a quick return on investment and uninterrupted operations during commissioning.
