The Need for e-speed New Adidas Distribution Fulfillment Center Designed to Move Product

Adidas, the global footwear and sports apparel company, needed to rapidly expand its U.S. fulfillment and distribution capacity to support fast-growing e-commerce demand in North America. To meet its goal of preparing online orders in just two hours, Adidas turned to Interlake Mecalux for storage racking and selective pallet racking for its new Pennsylvania facility.

Interlake Mecalux designed and installed a flexible, highly accessible racking system that supports case and pallet storage, oversized goods, and safe warehouse operations. The solution helped Adidas store up to 16 million cases across 409,000 rack locations and 498 pallet positions, boost network distribution capacity by about 35%, and improve productivity 10-fold, while maintaining the safety requirements needed for its sprinkler system and fire protection.
