Benco Dental, the fastest growing private dental distributor in the U.S., needed a larger, more efficient distribution center to replace its undersized Wilkes-Barre facility and support rapid growth without disrupting service. Working with Interlake Mecalux, Benco planned a new Pittston home office and distribution center featuring carton flow racks and mezzanine floor racking systems to improve picking, replenishment, and space use.

Interlake Mecalux designed and installed a customized massive picking module system tailored to Benco Dental’s operations, including adjustable decks, catwalks, an overpass, shelf pick areas, pallet flow rails, V-shaped shelves, and safety features to support JIT replenishment. The new facility helped Benco move 34,000 items during relocation without shutting down for a day, and the company reports a 12% productivity increase compared with its previous facilities.
