Case Study: SLVA achieves high-density milk storage with Interlake Mecalux Pallet Shuttle system

The Dairy Producer Slva Manages the Handling and Storage of More Than 7,400 Pallets With Nine Pallet Shuttles in Up to 20 M Deep Channels

SLVA, a French milk producer and distributor, needed a warehouse solution that could handle high pallet turnover while maximizing storage capacity in a limited footprint at its logistics center in Theix, near Clermont Ferrand. To meet this challenge, vendor Interlake Mecalux supplied a semi-automated high-density Pallet Shuttle storage system.

Interlake Mecalux implemented three blocks of rack served by nine Pallet Shuttles, creating a compact, high-density warehouse with LIFO operation and tablet-controlled shuttle management. The solution stores 7,424 pallets in 30,451 ft2, supports faster inbound and outbound cycles, and improves safety by keeping forklifts out of the storage aisles and adding protective mesh and enclosures.
