Streamline Order Preparation to Increase Warehouse Throughput

Arvato Bertelsmann’s AS Healthcare division in France needed to speed up order preparation for a high-volume healthcare operation handling many SKUs, short lead times, and same-day delivery to hospitals, health centers, and pharmacies. Interlake Mecalux supported the project with an automated warehouse solution centered on carton flow racking with pick-to-light and a conveyor circuit to improve picking efficiency and reduce errors.

Interlake Mecalux implemented 1,312 ft of conveyors linking the picking, sorting, and consolidation areas, along with carton flow racking, pallet racking, and stretch wrapping stations. The system increased order-prep speed, improved productivity, and lowered operating costs by reducing manual handling and streamlining transport, sealing, and sorting across the warehouse.
