Speedy Order Picking at the Large-sized Van Heck Interpieces Installation

Van Heck Interpieces, an automotive spare parts distributor with a 4,000 m² warehouse near Lyon, France, needed to manage a very large catalog of more than 490,000 SKUs with fast, accurate order picking. To meet these demands, the company worked with Interlake Mecalux to find a storage and picking setup that could handle products of different sizes, turnover rates, and storage needs.

Interlake Mecalux implemented a three-level warehouse solution combining mezzanines, picking shelving, pallet racking, and an automated conveyor circuit. The system organized products by sector, improved direct access to goods, and streamlined order grouping, consolidation, and dispatch. As a result, Van Heck Interpieces increased storage capacity by fully using warehouse height and improved picking throughput and operational flexibility, while also reducing errors through organized consolidation and automated material flow.
