Raising the Bar in Boise Mecalux Constructs Comprehensive AS/RS Pallet Racking Solution

The Idaho State Liquor Division (ISLD) in Boise faced rapid growth that left its 55,000 ft² distribution center short on space and struggling to manage a growing number of liquor SKUs efficiently. To meet increasing demand and improve inventory control, ISLD turned to Interlake Mecalux and its unit load AS/RS pallet racking solution.

Interlake Mecalux designed and installed a high-density automated storage system in a 17,200 ft² expansion, using stacker cranes, induction conveyors, and Galileo control software to support pallet storage, case picking, and split-case replenishment. The new AS/RS fully utilizes a 51-foot-high warehouse addition, adds nearly 3,000 pallet positions, expands SKU capacity from 350 to about 1,200, and improves safety, productivity, and product handling without increasing labor.
