Push Back Racking Is The Solution To The Height And Depth Issues For The College Of DuPage Warehouse

College of DuPage, a large Illinois college serving more than 28,000 students, needed a better way to store paper and supplies in its warehouse. Its existing pallet racking was too deep, too tall, and created safety concerns because workers had to reach into the racks and deal with loads close to the ceiling and sprinkler heads.

Interlake Mecalux recommended and installed Push-Back Racking Systems to solve the space and safety issues. The new system improved storage density and selectivity, eliminated the need to reach into racks, let staff store full pallets without breaking them down, and allowed the warehouse to use a smaller sit-down forklift instead of a reach truck. Each cart supports up to 3,000 lbs., helping the college reduce labor costs while improving safety and efficiency.
