Paolo Astori has installed a new AS/RS for boxes in Italy

Paolo Astori, the Italian fasteners manufacturer for the aeronautics industry, needed a faster way to manage more than 20,000 SKUs and cope with growing order volumes at its logistics centre near Milan. Interlake Mecalux provided a solution suited to small parts storage and order picking: an automated miniload warehouse for boxes.

Interlake Mecalux installed a 5,472-box automated miniload system with double-depth racks, a high-speed stacker crane, and product-to-person picking. The result was a major productivity gain: Paolo Astori doubled daily order preparation from 100 to 200 while also improving control, traceability, and cost efficiency by reducing manual handling and errors.
