A Interlake Mecalux Case Study
Nupik Internacional, a Spanish manufacturer of sustainable single-use tableware for the hotel, catering, and retail sectors, needed to centralize and streamline its logistics to keep pace with growing sales and seasonal demand. The company wanted to unify production, warehousing, and dispatch in one site and improve efficiency in order preparation, sequencing, and distribution. Interlake Mecalux provided the warehouse automation and Easy WMS warehouse management system to support these goals.
Interlake Mecalux implemented two automated storage systems, conveyor tunnels, pallet lifts, an anthropomorphic picking robot, and Easy WMS to control inventory and sequence orders from production through dispatch. The result was a highly automated, interconnected logistics operation capable of preparing up to 345 orders per day and shipping around 2,400 pallets daily at peak, with 789,000 pallets moved in the last year. Nupik also gained tighter stock control, fewer errors, lower handling costs, and improved service for customers in Spain and abroad.
