Novartis Automates Its Supply Chain in Poland

Novartis, the global pharmaceuticals and biotech company, needed a larger, more efficient way to store and handle blister-packed medications at its packing center in Stryków, Poland. To protect product quality, increase supply-chain efficiency, and meet growing market demand, the company turned to Interlake Mecalux for an automated storage and handling solution.

Interlake Mecalux implemented a 1,980 m², 27-meter-high clad-rack warehouse with Easy WMS, three stacker cranes, AGVs, and automated pallet conveyors linked directly to manufacturing. The system delivers fully automatic operations, 14,304-pallet capacity, improved hygiene and safety, better control over movements, lower maintenance and personnel costs, and faster, more productive distribution to more than 60 countries.
