Mecalux Completes the Semi-automated Storage Project for a New 216,000 Ft2 Logistics Center in Portugal

Luís Simões, a leading transportation and logistics provider in Spain and Portugal, needed to expand and modernize its storage capacity at a new logistics center in Portugal while speeding pallet flow for a growing customer base. To meet these goals, Interlake Mecalux supplied a semi-automated storage solution using the Pallet Shuttle system alongside conventional pallet racking.

Interlake Mecalux designed two interconnected warehouses with high-density and conventional storage, loading docks, consolidation areas, and optimized picking zones. The result was a total capacity of 35,433 pallets, improved operational speed and truck loading efficiency, and a stronger strategic position for Luís Simões at the Port of Leixões, supporting faster service and rush delivery.
