Interlake Mecalux Pick Modules Increase Efficiency of Benco Dental's Distribution Center

Benco Dental, a major U.S. distributor of dental supplies, equipment, service, and technology, needed to improve efficiency in its Jacksonville, Florida distribution center as rapid growth and 22,000 SKUs made the existing setup disjointed and cramped. Interlake Mecalux provided storage and picking solutions including pick modules, carton flow racks, pallet racking, mezzanine floor racking systems, and roller conveyors to support a more efficient operation.

Interlake Mecalux designed twin three-story pick modules with a bridge, selective pallet racking, and conveyor-supported zone picking to better use vertical space and streamline order flow. The new system is 40% larger than the previous setup, supports 2,880 pallet positions, and has improved process flow from receiving to dispatch while leaving room for future expansion.
