Interlake Mecalux Has Equipped the New Unilever Distribution Center With Pallet Racking

Unilever, the global consumer goods company, needed to expand and modernize its Montevideo, Uruguay logistics center to support strong growth while improving resource efficiency and lowering environmental impact. To meet this challenge, Interlake Mecalux supplied a warehouse storage solution for the new distribution center, including pallet racking and live picking areas.

Interlake Mecalux equipped the 18,000 m2 facility with single- and double-deep pallet racks, 48 live picking bays, and a 3,000 m2 preloads area, creating storage for more than 15,000 pallets. The result was a highly efficient operation with direct SKU access, faster order picking, and measurable capacity of 15,055 pallets, while the site also earned Uruguay’s first LEED certification for an eco-friendly warehouse.
