Interlake Mecalux Bolted Selective Rack Makes Picking Easier at Delta Children’s New Warehouse

Delta Children, a leading American maker of cribs and baby products, was outgrowing its two Southern California warehouses as e-commerce demand and fast-turnaround requirements from customers like Walmart, Target, and Amazon increased. To improve operations in its new Fontana, California facility, the company needed a storage system that would simplify picking and support a wide mix of product sizes and shipping methods. Interlake Mecalux supplied the bolted selective pallet rack solution used in the project.

Interlake Mecalux, working with Ziglift / Global Trade Marketing, designed and installed 47 aisles of selective pallet racking in Delta Children’s 6.66-acre warehouse, with 30,606 pallet positions, wide enough aisles for turret trucks, and bay heights up to 36 feet to maximize vertical space. The system streamlined picking by giving direct access to every pallet and increased storage capacity by 33%, while the full project was completed in about two months.
