Interlake Mecalux Automated System Helps Charter Next Generation Store Products of All Shapes and Sizes

Charter Next Generation, a U.S.-based plastic films manufacturer serving industries such as food packaging, was outgrowing its existing storage setup as production expanded rapidly. To handle a wide variety of pallet sizes and product turnovers while maintaining traceability, cleanliness, and fast throughput, the company needed a much larger, more efficient warehousing solution. Interlake Mecalux supplied an automated storage and retrieval system (AS/RS) managed by Easy WMS.

Interlake Mecalux implemented a 39-foot-high AS/RS with six aisles, double-depth selective racking, and stacker cranes, increasing storage capacity to more than 15,400 pallets. The system automates inbound and outbound flows, pallet inspection, storage assignment, and dispatch coordination, while Galileo controls the moving equipment. As a result, Charter Next Generation gained higher capacity, faster operations, and improved inventory control with fewer manual errors.
