Interlake Mecalux and Atlantic Rack Pallet Flow Rack Solves Pet Supermarket’s Replenishment Woes

Pet Supermarket, one of the largest small-format specialty pet retailers in the southeastern U.S., was struggling with storage shortages and inefficient replenishment at its Sunrise, Florida warehouse. To expand capacity, the company worked with Interlake Mecalux and Atlantic Rack and planned to use Interlake Mecalux Pallet Flow and Selective racking at its new Davie distribution center.

Interlake Mecalux helped design and supply a pallet racking solution that includes 2,048 Pallet Flow positions and 2,550 Selective rack positions, giving Pet Supermarket a FIFO system for fast-moving, expiration-sensitive inventory. The new setup improved the replenishment model by 60% and increased storage capacity by about 25% to 30%, while also reducing the need for stockers and lowering labor costs.
