Cofan, an online industrial, hardware, and DIY supplies company in Spain, needed a new logistics center to support rapid growth, increase storage capacity, classify products by SKU and demand, and improve order preparation and delivery times while keeping operating costs low. To address this challenge, Interlake Mecalux provided a solution designed around Cofan’s diverse assortment, order volumes, and ABC turnover requirements.

Interlake Mecalux implemented a sectored 6.2-acre logistics center with multiple storage systems, including manual picking racks, pallet racking, an automated miniload warehouse, conveyors, box formers, sealing and labeling equipment, consolidation stations, and classification chutes, all managed by Easy WMS. The result was a highly efficient picking operation with faster order processing, greater throughput, and strong storage capacity, including space for 14,334 boxes and 7,824 pallets.
