A Interlake Mecalux Case Study
Espi’s Sausage and Tocino Co., a Seattle-based maker of frozen Filipino-inspired meat products, needed to better organize its crowded main freezer and create room for future growth. With almost all 456 square feet of freezer space already in use and pallets stacked directly on the floor, the company turned to Interlake Mecalux for a storage solution that could improve space use, inventory handling, and food safety compliance.
Interlake Mecalux recommended and installed bolted Selective Rack with 12 frames and 28 beams, giving Espi’s direct product access and easier stock management. The new system reduced the freezer footprint to just 32% of total space while keeping nearly the same amount of inventory, leaving 68% available for expansion. The result was a cleaner, more sanitary, and more efficient freezer that also impressed USDA inspectors.
