Efficient Order Picking System in the Decathlon Warehouse in Poland

Decathlon, the global sports equipment retailer, needed a faster and more efficient way to handle growing e-commerce and urban store demand at its new logistics centre in Łódź, Poland. To maximize storage capacity while speeding up order picking and consolidation, it partnered with Interlake Mecalux for a storage and picking solution.

Interlake Mecalux equipped the facility with mezzanine picking shelves, pallet racks, and a conveyor circuit tailored to product size and demand. The system provides direct access to small items and palletized reserves, supports person-to-product picking with WMS guidance, and streamlines order flow to consolidation and shipping. The result is an optimized operation with 11,518 pallet positions, more than 6,000 shelves, and improved operator productivity through reduced travel and faster order preparation.
