Disalfarm Attains Capacity Productivity and Oversight With the Automation in Distinct Phases of Its Traditional Warehouse

Disalfarm, a Spanish logistics company serving specialty pharmaceuticals, needed to expand and modernize its warehouse near Barcelona without interrupting customer service. The challenge was to increase capacity and throughput while reducing forklift traffic, improving safety, and keeping operations running during the upgrade. Interlake Mecalux provided the automation and warehouse handling expertise needed for the project, including trilateral stacker crane technology and warehouse control software.

Interlake Mecalux implemented a phased automation project centered on 15 automatic trilateral stacker cranes, floor guide rails, conveyor systems, and the Galileo control program integrated with Disalfarm’s WMS. The solution preserved the warehouse’s 19,350-pallet capacity, enabled full automation without stopping operations, and streamlined flows for incoming, outgoing, and picking processes. As a result, Disalfarm significantly increased productivity and maintained continuous customer service throughout the modernization.
