A Interlake Mecalux Case Study

Preview of the Decathlon Case Study

Decathlon opens three new warehouses in Italy equipped by Interlake Mecalux

Decathlon, the international sporting goods retailer, was experiencing rapid growth in Italy driven by its expanding store network and rising e-commerce sales. To support faster order preparation and improve logistics efficiency, the company turned to Interlake Mecalux for custom storage and picking solutions across three new distribution centres in Brandizzo, Basiano and Castel San Pietro Terme.

Interlake Mecalux equipped the warehouses with earthquake-resistant pallet racking, multi-tier mezzanine picking areas for small items, and a conveyor-linked consolidation flow, all managed with WMS and RF terminals. The result was a highly space-efficient, omnichannel logistics setup with direct access to stock, faster picking, and better service for online and store replenishment, with capacities reaching up to 14,234 pallets and more than 21,000 picking shelves in the largest site.
