A Interlake Mecalux Case Study
Porcelanosa, the European tile, kitchen, and bath products manufacturer with a major U.S. headquarters in Ramsey, New Jersey, needed a flexible storage system for heavy 3,000-lb pallets and a wide variety of changing stock. To support its growing U.S. distribution operation, Porcelanosa turned to Interlake Mecalux for a solution that could handle both palletized goods and bulky, non-palletized items.
Interlake Mecalux implemented a mixed system of Cantilever Racks, Wide Span Shelving, and Pallet Racks across the New Jersey facility, while also completing installations at other U.S. locations. The new layout improved access to inventory, increased picking efficiency, and significantly expanded storage capacity to 16,000 Euro-pallets, giving Porcelanosa about four months of stock on hand and helping the company maintain faster service and quality as it continues to grow.
