Charter Next Generation boosts storage to 15,400 pallets with Interlake Mecalux

Charter Next Generation, a manufacturer of food-grade blown films, faced a challenge in scaling its distribution capacity to support its rapid double-digit growth. The company needed a very clean, structured, and scalable warehousing solution that could handle its diverse range of pallet sizes and packaging configurations. They partnered with Interlake Mecalux to implement an automated storage and retrieval system (AS/RS) managed by the Easy WMS warehouse management software.

Interlake Mecalux designed and built a highly flexible AS/RS featuring six aisles that are 459 feet long, the longest the vendor has ever installed. The solution included six stacker cranes and a conveyor system, providing a total storage capacity for 15,400 pallets. This system increased productivity with 108 combined cycles per hour and allowed Charter Next Generation to achieve significant freight savings by improving shipment consolidation, all while ensuring high levels of safety and product traceability.
