BASF Digitization for Just-in-time Production

BASF, the German multinational chemical company, digitized the logistics operations at its Indaiatuba plant in Brazil to support just-in-time production and improve control over 1,800 SKUs. To replace manual warehouse management and reduce errors, BASF worked with Interlake Mecalux and its Easy WMS warehouse management system.

Interlake Mecalux implemented Easy WMS to integrate the warehouse with BASF’s production systems, provide real-time inventory visibility, and optimize receiving, storage, picking, and dispatching. The result was full traceability of materials, faster operator movements, better space use, and smoother supply to production lines, with the facility handling about 280 pallets received and 120 pallets prepared each day.
