Automation at Lantmännen Unibake's Warehouse Our Daily Bread

Lantmännen Unibake, one of Europe’s leading bakery groups, needed to scale its logistics operations in Poland as production and demand grew. At its new Nowa Sól facility, the company wanted a faster, more traceable way to manage refrigerated and frozen goods, replacing lower-throughput non-automatic storage at its previous site. Interlake Mecalux was selected to support the move to automation.

Interlake Mecalux implemented a connected logistics center with two automated storage systems: a clad-rack warehouse for frozen products and an automatic cooled storage aisle for fresh goods, linked directly to production by conveyors, stacker cranes, lifts and a WMS. The solution provides a total capacity of 15,920 pallets, enables dispatch of close to 100 pallets per hour, and allows Lantmännen Unibake to load about 12 to 18 trucks per shift while improving traceability, hygiene, and efficiency.
