A Distribution Centre Able to Store Manage and Carry Out the Picking of Thousands of Pet Supply Items

Petz, one of Brazil’s leading pet care retailers, needed a warehouse in São Paulo that could handle a wide variety of products, special handling requirements, and rapid growth while improving picking efficiency. Interlake Mecalux was chosen to design a storage solution suited to the company’s diverse inventory and high order volumes.

Interlake Mecalux installed a mix of selective pallet racking, a mezzanine for picking, drive-in racking, sensitive-product shelving, and consolidation and preloading areas. The new facility increased storage capacity and streamlined operations, with space for more than 5,700 pallets overall, including 3,808 pallets in selective racking, 1,446 on the mezzanine, and 408 in drive-in racks, while also doubling usable warehouse area through the mezzanine and improving order-preparation agility.
