3pl to Yuma Interlake Mecalux Push-back Racking Vertical Solution

Desert Depot, a logistics operator based in Arizona’s Free Trade Zone, needed to cut costs and make better use of its warehouse space without disrupting operations. The company was leasing a costly 57,000 ft2 facility and wanted to optimize its own inventory storage while accommodating a wide range of pallet sizes and future growth. Interlake Mecalux was brought in to help with a high-density storage solution.

Interlake Mecalux implemented push-back pallet racks in Desert Depot’s 103,000 ft2 Yuma warehouse, allowing storage access from a single aisle while reusing existing forklifts. The new layout doubled storage volume to more than 16,000 pallets, supported GMA pallets from about 1,100 lb to 2,200 lb, and eliminated the need for the nearby leased warehouse. Installation took nine weeks and operations continued throughout the project.
