Case Study: LegalZoom evolves into an ongoing legal partner with Interactivism

LegalZoom tests two UX concepts with Interactivism in 2017–2018

LegalZoom, a consumer legal services company, engaged the vendor Interactivism to help it evolve from a transactional service provider into an ongoing legal partner for its customers. The challenge was to design a user experience that would appeal to their traditional self-guided users while also serving a new customer segment that expected a more collaborative and consultative relationship.

Interactivism addressed this by developing two distinct UX concepts. Concept A featured a task-oriented information architecture for users who knew their exact needs, while Concept B used a topic-based approach with a strong search function and a conversational UI for exploratory and collaborative users. After prototyping and user testing both concepts with positive results, Interactivism delivered the validated solutions and a full research readout to LegalZoom's product team.
