Village Roadshow, an Australian entertainment company, faced significant data growth that was straining its internal data center. They needed a scalable, high-performance managed storage solution with strong business continuity capabilities at a cost lower than an in-house purchase. They engaged their long-term vendor, Interactive, to find a solution using Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).

Interactive implemented a solution utilizing NetApp storage hardware. They migrated all of Village Roadshow's data to Interactive's Tier III data center, providing managed production storage, firewall services, monitoring, and management. The result was a significantly reduced cost compared to an in-house purchase and the flexibility to use their old storage for disaster recovery, providing a strategic stepping stone toward a full cloud computing solution.
