Dairy Crest, a leading British dairy company, faced a legacy intranet that had become an information dumping ground with broken search, no version control and lots of outdated content. A two‑person build team (Communications Manager Sam Coop and Business Change Manager Kevin Coyle) needed to replace the old system, change employee perceptions of intranets and deliver a user‑centric platform that would cut routine queries and improve collaboration. They selected Interact and its intranet solution after workshops that demonstrated fit for functionality, service and user needs.
Interact implemented a rebuilt, social intranet focused on self‑serve, search, collaboration and visible people profiles. Launched softly in January 2019, the new Interact platform drove rapid adoption — 86% of users accessed the site within the first six weeks and active users now stand at 95% — increased content publishing and enabled HR self‑service (e.g., leave booking, expenses), internal recruitment and a staff lottery/volunteering hub. The result was a transformed workplace experience, higher engagement and measurable reductions in routine support queries.
