Honeycomb Group, a Staffordshire-based housing collective of five brands (250–1,000 employees), was struggling with an outdated intranet called CAKE that had unclear purpose, poor governance, overwhelming content and poor findability. To coincide with its external rebrand the Group engaged Interact to rebuild its internal communications hub, implementing The Hive on Interact’s intranet platform.

Interact led an employee‑first redesign with intranet champions, applied Honeycomb’s new brand to The Hive, streamlined navigation from 14 to 5 menu items, moved to a purpose‑led document structure and cut pages from 950 to 292 while improving tagging and search. The Hive drove rapid adoption — 90% active users within 60 days (7,533 visits from 250 users), daily visits averaging 126 (up 10%), 17,880 page views and 5,311 document visits — measurable results delivered by Interact.
