Case Study: War Child achieves connected global teams and a single source of truth with Interact Software

A Interact Software Case Study

Preview of the War Child Case Study

Global non-profit War Child connects dispersed volunteers to better support children affected by war

War Child, an international non-profit supporting children in conflict zones, faced fragmented knowledge and poor internal communication across dispersed staff and volunteers — documents were scattered in a cluttered Google Docs site and there was no reliable way to share policies or safety guidance. After winning Interact’s non-profit intranet competition, War Child worked with Interact to build a centralized intranet, Phileas, using Interact software to connect country offices, volunteers and HQ staff.

Interact provided strategy, design and deployment support (including onsite strategy sessions and weekly planning calls) and delivered Phileas with features like a Policy Library (organized into 17 categories), gamification (scoreboard, rewards “donuts”), Google Translate and training-led rollout. The solution was rolled out globally by December 2016, created a single source of truth for policies and compliance, improved staff engagement and cross‑office communication, and allowed rapid crisis messaging (for example, sharing Ebola guidance) — outcomes War Child attributes directly to Interact.
