Curo, a Bath-based housing association managing over 13,000 homes and around 550 colleagues (including 143 remote workers), faced a fragmented workforce and an internally built Umbraco intranet that offered poor search, little interaction and left many staff feeling “cut off.” In 2013 Curo partnered with Interact to deliver an employee-focused intranet (The Orb) designed for mobile access, two-way communication and an improved user experience.

Interact implemented a social intranet co-designed with colleagues, featuring team spaces, blogs, rewards and mobile-optimized widgets. The Orb drove measurable impact: 8,847 Limelight rewards given in eight months, about 70 blogs per quarter, over 6,000 unique visits per quarter and roughly 350 daily active users, alongside reduced email traffic, higher employee engagement and faster access to critical information—results Curo attributes directly to Interact’s solution.
