B&G Equipment and Supply Uses Web Services to Cut Down on Month-End Close Time

B&G Equipment and Supply, which rents and sells equipment across six locations in the Southeast, was burdened by time-consuming, error-prone month-end tasks—especially repetitive accounts payable entries and recurring journal entries. To streamline their close, B&G engaged InTempo Software (with consultant DeAnna Freeman from their professional services team) to evaluate and automate processes using web services such as AP Upload and Journal Entry Upload.

InTempo Software implemented AP Upload with spreadsheet templates, Journal Entry Upload, and automated Reporter outputs so staff can import recurring invoices and batch journal entries instead of keying each line manually. The changes cut keystrokes and errors, saved “a few hours” at month end, let controllers complete complex journal entries “within a minute,” and automated daily reports—accelerating close and reducing manual work.
