Improved Operations Help Provide an Idyllic Vacation Spot for Thousands of Visitors

Jekyll Island Authority (JIA), the self-supporting state agency that manages Jekyll Island’s parks and facilities, struggled to track a $60,000+ warehouse inventory serving 30 departments. Coordinator Shawna Nazzrie relied on error-prone spreadsheets that produced incomplete, inaccurate data, lost items, inventory shortages and delayed work orders. To solve this, JIA engaged IntelliTrack and chose the IntelliTrack Inventory web-based system.

IntelliTrack implemented IntelliTrack Inventory in October 2014 with barcode scanning, mobile and desktop access, customized reports and training. The solution gave JIA real-time, location-specific inventory data, simplified reordering with minimum/maximum stock levels, and allowed three new departments (a gift shop, retail village and conservation program) to be added smoothly. As a result, IntelliTrack helped JIA speed work-order processing, increase productivity, avoid costly surpluses and shortages, and provide accurate data for day-to-day accounting and purchasing decisions.
