Streamlining Field Work with Offline Data Capture

Holy Cross Energy, a cooperative electric utility serving more than 55,000 members across Northwest Colorado, needed to replace inefficient paper workflows used by nearly 50 linemen working across five counties—many without reliable internet. Paper forms slowed jobs like large meter installs, required manual data entry, caused errors, and made photo audits and clean reporting difficult.

They deployed Formstack Forms and Documents with the Formstack Go app on iPads to enable offline, mobile data capture. Using conditional logic, barcode scanning, photo uploads, and automatic GIS notifications, linemen now complete about 20 key processes digitally. The change eliminated manual entry, sped cross‑department communication, produced cleaner customer documents and rebate forms, and scaled into nearly 200 streamlined forms across the organization.
