Yonkers Preservation Gets A Smart Boiler Room Make-Over

Yonkers Preservation, a public housing development in Yonkers, NY, needed to upgrade its 60-apartment building from low-efficiency boiler tanks to a more efficient domestic hot water system. The existing steam boiler and tank setup also raised concerns about stagnant water and the associated risk of Legionella growth. Intellihot Inc. provided the solution with tankless on-demand water heaters, specifically (3) iN401 units.

Intellihot Inc. installed three iN401 water heaters delivering 1,200,000 BTU/hr with zero gallons of storage, creating a more efficient and safer hot water system for the property. The upgrade improved reliability and allowed building staff to monitor equipment remotely and respond more quickly to mechanical issues. By switching to on-demand heating, Yonkers Preservation also reduced wasted energy compared with traditional boiler systems.
