Milligan College’s Sutton Hall in Tennessee is a busy women’s residence hall serving 120 residents, with dorms, a student lounge, dining center access, and full laundry facilities. The college was dealing with an aging hot water system made up of one 80-gallon heater and two 100-gallon tanks that were leaking and inefficient, creating a need for a more reliable solution. Vendor Intellihot Inc. provided the hot water equipment for the project.

Intellihot Inc. replaced the old tanks with three iQ251 zero-storage water heating units, delivering hot water to the entire building without any storage tank. The new system provides 750,000 BTU/hr of installed capacity and was designed to improve reliability, reduce waste, and eliminate cold showers for students, while also saving space and cutting energy use compared with the previous setup.
