Fairfield Inn & Suites, a Marriott-brand hotel in East Syracuse, NY, needed a cost-effective domestic hot water solution for its new 108-room property. The engineering team wanted to keep construction costs within budget while also dealing with limited mechanical room space, and the original plan for traditional water heaters with storage tanks was too expensive and bulky. Intellihot Inc. provided the water heating system used in the project.

Intellihot Inc. implemented a zero-storage solution using two iQ751 units and one iQ251 unit, with the two iQ751s serving the primary loop and the iQ251 boosting temperatures for laundry. The system delivered continuous hot water for both domestic use and laundry without interruption, while reducing CapEx and saving valuable mechanical room space. The installation also offered energy-efficient operation with up to 40% energy savings compared with traditional water heating methods.
